Recognition for our science litter project in Glasgow!

Our innovative scientific litter project with partners Glasgow Science Festival (University of Glasgow) was recognised as a finalist at a vibrant awards ceremony in Glasgow last night.

Cleaner Canals Science, made possible by funders Zero Waste Scotland, was celebrated a finalist for ‘Best Community Clean Up Campaign’ Category at the Evening Times Streets Ahead Awards, a ceremony honouring the inspiring individuals and great groups changing their communities for the better, one street at a time.

Hosted by Glasgow City Council in the stunning surroundings of Glasgow Green’s Winter Gardens, Cleaner Canals Science received recognition for engaging over 2,000 individuals with the problem of litter using a brand new, scientific approach.

Schoolchildren, community groups and the local community came together over 3 months to use hands-on science to tackle the problem of litter and make the environment a better place for everyone.

Thank you!
