Become a Green Action Volunteer in Falkirk

We’re looking for young volunteers to join Green Action, our outdoor skills training programme based at The Falkirk Wheel!

What is Green Action?

Green Action is a 12 week programme running every Thursday at The Falkirk Wheel. It’s outdoors, and gives a group of volunteers aged 16-25 the opportunity to learn new skills, tasks and earn certificates through outdoor learning in a group. You’ll get to make new friends and help conserve and safeguard areas around The Falkirk Wheel through tasks like landscaping and gardening, forestry, woodworking, planting wildflowers and plants and painting and maintenance.

Green Action begins on Thursday 1st September and will run for 12 weeks.

Who is it for?

Green Action is for you if you’re aged 16-25, and not in education, employment or training and want to take a step closer to the world of work.

What will I learn?

The programme will help you gain real work experience and give you the opportunity to learn valuable skills and earn certificates. You’ll pick up forestry and conservation skills and learn to care for natural and built heritage. You’ll get the chance to work towards a number of awards like the Saltire Award, John Muir Award, Youth Achievement Award and Green Action Certificate and you can also earn First Aid and Water Safety Certificates. We’ll also help you with your CV, so you can show off your new skills to potential new employers!
